Dear Parents, Families, and Guardians,

Wonderful to see so many of you at Cornerstone Café this morning! The children gave such an inspiring presentation about their visit to the University of Minnesota's Interactive Visualization & Robotics Laboratories. When their amazing minds and tender hearts get exposed to such big ideas the children literally glow, perhaps with potential. A key desired outcome of Montessori education is that children grow into people who seek to find a role for themselves in meeting a need; in helping humanity. At the end, one father asked if any of the children had been thinking, since the trip, about how else this technology could be used. I was touched to the point of tears when one of the children spoke compassionately about the possibility of using virtual reality or robotics “to support a person who has lost a leg, for example, in feeling more confident with their rehabilitation; with trying out a new leg”. Powerful and touching and I feel grateful to each of you for choosing an education for your children that prioritizes this kind of learning and these kinds of outcomes!

Have a wonderful weekend. Rest up a bit for next week’s excitement!
