Dear Families,

It’s been a busy week!  It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Parent Partnership on Monday night.  We look forward to seeing you again on November 26.

Monday was also Peace Day for the elementary children.  The children shared the history of the United Nations, wrote original poems (and a song!), and performed for the entire community.  It was beautiful to see the ownership the children had over this event and the joy with which they shared in each other’s talents.

This coming week will bring even more busy activity.  Cornerstone Cafe is this Friday at 8:30 in the MCM coffee bar.  Lourdes Harris, our Toddler guide, will join us at 9am, as will our new receptionist, Zitlali Chavez Ayala.  You are welcome to join us for pastries, coffee, and conversation.

Also upcoming is the World Cafe, for Early Childhood families (Toddler and Children’s House).  This event, October 22 from 4 to 5:30 pm, is an opportunity to talk with other parents/guardians about your experiences and where Cornerstone can provide support.  Please RSVP by October 15 so we can have an accurate count for dinner and childcare.

On October 24, we will have an Open House.  We encourage you to share with your communities the opportunity to come visit the school and learn more about enrollment.

And finally, we have heard that some parents are having a hard time finding their guides’ email addresses.  You can reach your child’s teacher as follows:
Lourdes Harris and Laurie Pittman -
Molly McDermott -
Maisah Outlaw -
Sara Wade -
Amber Osterkamp -
Jess Goff -
Mara Johnson -

Stay tuned for sign-up information regarding conferences and observations…

Enjoy the last days of September,
