Dear Families,

It has been great fun to see the children go outside in the many kinds of weather we have had this week. The toddler yard is covered in leaves, allowing for wonderful practical life opportunities; the elementary children have discovered how slippery wet leaves are on the walkway, seeing how far they can slide between buildings.

With the change in weather comes the inevitable colds and coughs. Please remember that school policy is for children with a fever over 100 degrees to be home 24 hours after the fever breaks, as well as 24 hours after vomiting or beginning antibiotics. We appreciate your help in keeping our entire community healthy.

There has been some confusion around the car line in the morning and at the 3:30 pickup. We will be outside to greet your child between 8:30 and 8:45. If you drop off then, we encourage you to use the car line. The car line is only for use if your child will walk in independently or with a member of our admin team. If you want to walk your child in, you must park in the lot, on the street, or ahead of the orange cone alongside the building. Please do not stop and leave your car running in the line. Likewise at the 3:30 pickup, we will walk your child to you if you wish to use the car line. If you are going to come in the building, you must park. Leaving cars in the line prevents other families, staff, and visitors from entering and exiting the parking lot in a safe and efficient manner. Thank you for your help!

Conferences are coming up October 25-26. Please speak with Zitlali ( to sign up for your 30 minute slot with your child's guide.  A note from parents regarding conferences: “It’s conference time again and we want to support teachers and staff during teacher conferences! Please consider signing up to bring some food for them to enjoy during conferences using this link.”

Finally, a few other reminders:  The World Cafe for Early Childhood parents is October 22.  We would love to see you all there; childcare and dinner will be provided 4-6:30pm in the MCM lecture room.  We are also having an open house for prospective families October 24. We appreciate if you can share this with your communities.

I look forward to seeing you all at our many school events in the next few weeks!
