Dear Families,

Happy Solstice!  Today is the shortest day of the year and our elementary classes are celebrating with pajama day and lessons about revolution and rotation.  It is hard to believe it's almost 2019 and the first semester of school is complete.

I am thrilled to announce that CMES' application for authorizer transfer has been accepted by the University of St. Thomas.  We have been with Volunteers of America since the school's opening and as we enter this next stage of development, we are excited to partner with a local organization sharing our values.  Many thanks to the parents who participated in our site visit and to the CMES board for their hard work on the application.

We are looking for a volunteer to help create "tree cookies" that the children can use for imaginative play.  Please let me know if this is something you might be able to help with.

The Boys and Girls Club is open next Wednesday through Friday, 9am-5pm.  They are closed the week of December 31.  Please note, as well, that they close at 5pm today.

When we return from break in January, things start right where we left off.  A calendar of events will be sent home that first week, but please mark your calendar for our first Cornerstone Cafe of the year on January 11; Molly McDermott will join us.

It has been such a treat to get to know all of you and your children this fall.  Have a wonderful, restful vacation.  See you in January!
