Dear Families,

I hope you all managed to stay warm during this week!  We do regret having to close school for so many days - this decision is never made lightly, and the children’s safety is foremost in our decision.  Hopefully there will not be much more weather this winter that will require a closure.

The week started out wonderfully, with a magical Stone Soup.  It was great to see so many families (and all the soups were delicious).  Please enjoy a few photos from the event!

We are excited to start February off with a bit more warmth.  Please click here to see the important dates for this month; a paper copy will come home with your child as well.

It’s a ways away, but I want to draw your attention to three dates:  school will be closed February 15 and February 18, for staff in-service and Presidents’ Day.  On February 28, Alicia Sojourner will return to Cornerstone for the second in their series How to Talk WITH Children about Race and Racism.  This second workshop will begin a discussion about developmentally appropriate conversations with your children on the topic.  We had a wonderful turnout last night for Alicia’s first workshop; I hope to see many of you again on the 28th.  Please RSVP to Zitlali by February 25 so we can plan for dinner and childcare.

The local Girl Scouts troop is taking registrations for new girls.  Click here for a flyer with more information for those interested.

Have a wonderful weekend,
