Dear Families,

I looked around this week and realized that all the children are suddenly inches taller than they were just a few days ago. I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone! We are already in mid-February, preparing for the AMI/USA Refresher Course next weekend. The Refresher Course is a great opportunity for the staff to gather ideas for their environments and be rejuvenated in their practice. After four years of running the conference, with AMI/USA, I am looking forward to being an attendee this year!

The Refresher Course does mark a long weekend for the children here at Cornerstone.  School will be closed next Friday and Monday, February 15 and 18. The Boys and Girls Club will be open on February 18 from 9 to 5.

We are already looking forward to spring conferences March 21-22.  Please stay tuned for information about how to sign up in the next week.  We have heard your requests and will pilot an on-line method this spring!

Also upcoming are Early Childhood screenings for our 3-6 year olds.  These screenings will take place February 28 and March 7, and will require a parent/guardian to join their child.  If your child has not been screened previously, information forms will be coming home soon and sign-ups can be completed with Zitlali.

The Bakken Museum came yesterday morning to share Batteries, Bolts and Wires with the Upper Elementary.  The children had a great time learning about electricity and making their own circuits.  Attached are a few photos from their experience!

Please note that Cornerstone is a no-sugar school; treats with added sugar should not be included in children’s lunchboxes.  Thank you for your support of this policy.

Have a great weekend,
