Dear Families,

Somehow it is mid-March and we are only two weeks away from spring conferences.  There is a definite cabin fever in the air; energy is high and we are eager for spring.  It’s a busy few weeks before spring break the first week of April. Please join us on Monday for the annual Learning Fair.  The elementary children are hard at work on their projects and are excited to share their learning with you. More information about the event can be found here.

Next Friday, March 15, is an in-service day for our staff to complete professional development and prepare for conferences.  School will be closed for children. The following Thursday and Friday, March 21-22, school will also be closed for conferences.  Time slots are going quickly - please sign up here or contact Zitlali to sign up.

On March 28, from 6:00 to 7:30pm, is the last in our special series of workshops with Alicia Sojourner (dinner at 5:30).  In February Alicia talked us through the developmental stages of forming one’s racial identity. In March they will share how to address race and racism with children at each of these stages.  Attendance at the prior two sessions is not required to join us for the third. Please let Zitlali know if you would like to attend.

I would like to remind you all that cars should not be left running without an adult in the driver’s seat.  While we understand that it is cold out, it is very easy for incidents to occur and it contributes to air pollution in close proximity to the school.  Thank you for your help with this.

Have a great weekend,

Fun in the snow
