Dear Families,

The elementary program started this week off with a consultation visit from Allyn Travis, a long-time AMI trainer.  Allyn commended us on the beautiful classrooms and the warmth and love all the adults show to the children at Cornerstone.  It was a wonderful experience to learn from someone with so much experience.

Last night we had our final workshop with Alicia Sojourner and learned so much about talking with children about race and racism.  Information from the last two sessions can be found here.

It’s a busy road to June once we return from vacation.  The MCAs begin for 3rd-6th years right away (click here for the schedule), and our monthly Cornerstone Cafe is Friday, April 12.  Maisah Outlaw will join us at 8:30 for coffee and conversation.

Parents/guardians in the Early Childhood Program are invited to join us on April 23rd for the 2nd session of Self-Compassion:  Taking care of ourselves so we can keep being great parents.  This session will continue the conversation on strategies for self-care for parents and families; attendance at the first session is not required to attend this workshop.  Dinner, childcare and a gift card provided.  Tools and resources available to facilitate positive practices at home.  This event is sponsored by Serving the Whole Child.  We will meet immediately following dismissal at 4:30pm.

Your child should bring home all the important dates for April.  If you don’t receive the paper copy, you can click here to see what’s coming up this month.

I hope you all have a restful spring break next week!  We look forward to seeing your children again on April 8.
