Dear Families,

I hope you all have had a great week.  Every day continues to be busy and full at Cornerstone, with student teachers in many environments and MCA testing for our older children.

Montessori at home was featured in the New York Times this week!  Toddler guide Simone Davies offers tips for designing developmentally appropriate play spaces for children, particularly little ones, in the home.  You can click here to read the article and get some ideas for yourself.  Simone’s book The Montessori Toddler is also a great exploration on parenting young children; I’d be happy to share my copy if anyone is interested in reading it.

Upcoming for our families of young children is the second self-compassion event sponsored by Serving the Whole Child.  This workshop takes place on Tuesday, April 23, with dinner at 4:30 and childcare 5-6pm. Please let Zitlali know by Monday at noon if you would like to attend.  Attendance at the first workshop is not required to attend this one.

You should have each received an intent to return form from your elementary child (K-6) in the past few weeks.  We would most appreciate having those returned by Monday, so that we can continue to plan for the 2019-2020 school year.  If your form has gone missing, you can also find it here.

Mark your calendars!  On May 19, 1-3pm, we are planning an outside work day to prepare our environments for summer.  We hope you and your children will join us for some gardening and landscaping. More information will follow soon!

It looks like spring is officially here!  Enjoy the warmth this weekend!
