Dear Families,

It’s been a busy week! There has been a lot of time outside - gardening, especially in the Children’s Houses and Toddler Community, and even some extra recess for the elementary.

On behalf of Aaron Day, I want to thank those of you who contributed to the survey about drop-off procedures. This project is for a technical writing class that Aaron is taking and will provide us with some excellent ideas to consider as we look to streamline processes at Cornerstone. Please note that while the survey was not conducted by the school, we will take the recommendations offered seriously as they fit within our budget and staffing abilities.  Aaron’s goal was to analyze the current situation and make recommendations to improve it, understanding that there are many factors and limitation that affect actual change.

There has been a recent epidemic of children bringing toys to school, in both the Early Childhood and the Elementary programs.  Please help your child remember to leave all toys at home; any toys brought to school will need to be collected from the front desk by an adult.

It’s hard to believe that it is already May. Next Friday, May 3, is an in-service day for our staff. We look forward to accomplishing a good amount of material making - we will be creating Kingdom Animalia and Kingdom Vegetalia classification materials for all four elementary environments! We hope you enjoy the day off with your children.

The following Friday, May 10, is our final Cornerstone Cafe of the year. Please join us for conversation and, we hope, presentations from the children.

And, looking ahead a few weeks, our final Parent Partnership of the year is on May 20. This annual Literacy Night is a wonderful opportunity to share a love of reading with your children. Please RSVP to Zitlali by May 13 if you will join us for dinner at 5:30pm.

Have a good weekend,
