Dear Families,

Suddenly it’s autumn!  It’s amazing to think it was 80 degrees only a week ago.  Here at Cornerstone we are enjoying the falling leaves and the opportunities for practical life they present (see the attached photos!).

Daylin has reached out to those who have not yet signed up for a conference; please let her or me know if you need additional help scheduling. Please note that school is closed during the conference dates of October 24-25. Childcare will be available during your slot, and all elementary children this year (grades 1-6) are invited to participate in their conferences.

A huge thanks to Shareen Mann for helping to organize conference snacks for staff this year!  If you would like to contribute, please click here.

School Closure - October 17-18

For MEA weekend this year, we are so excited to have Dr. Val Wise join us for a two day equity planning session.  Equity is a huge element of our work with you and with your children, and we are eager to spend time together planning ways to improve our practice.  School will be closed next Thursday/Friday, October 17-18, for this work.  Thank you for your understanding.

Parent Partnership

Children Teach Parents is our next Parent Partnership event, on October 21 at 5:30!  This is a wonderful opportunity to see how your children spend their days, and to enter conferences with an understanding of what work looks like at Cornerstone.  Dinner will be provided for families; please RSVP by Wednesday to ensure we have sufficient food.  This year we will offer dinner throughout the 5:30-7:00 window, so please arrive when you can and start with your child’s class or with a meal.

Box Top Program

Connie Gottfried is our wonderful Box Tops coordinator, which helps Cornerstone raise funds through the cereals and snacks you purchase at home.  Please bring in any box tops by October 28.

Fire Drill

Please be aware that we will be conducting a fire drill next week.  Your children are well-practiced in these procedures.

Stay warm this weekend!
