Dear Families,

After the first full week of school, I hope that you are all feeling a little more settled!  For those of you participating in distance learning, we are completing our first “flash survey” this week to find out how things are going for you.  Please click here to complete the survey; it will close on Wednesday, September 23.  An additional email this weekend/early next week will share what we are working on and planning for the upcoming weeks.

Covid Updates

Our school nurse is offering a daily hotline for you to have questions answered about Covid.  Please click here to access Rosa.

We are also requiring that any children in the building have illnesses documented on this form.  If your child has any illness, even if you are sure that it is not Covid, please complete this form and notify us.

We are requiring such strict guidelines around illness this year, because of the exclusion policies put in place by the Department of Health.  Children who have any common symptom, such as fever or cough, or any two less common symptoms, such as sore throat and chills, must stay home and be tested for Covid or stay home for 10 days after symptoms end.  We are counting on your cooperation to keep our entire community healthy.  Thank you for your understanding.

Application for Educational Benefits

Chris has distributed the application for educational benefits to all CMES families.  Please return this form via email or mail, even if you completed it last year, by September 25.

Parent Partnership

Our first Parent Partnership event is this Monday at 5:30!  Join us for a conversation by level about Montessori at Home and at School.  Click here for the meeting.

Material Distribution

Next Friday, September 25, is another material distribution day.  Please come pick up your child’s packet between 11am and 5:30pm.  If you need an early morning pick-up time, please let me know.

Free Meals in St. Paul

We at Cornerstone are working hard to set up boxed meals for families to receive during distance learning.  In the meantime, St. Paul is offering free dinners and snacks to all children under 18.  Click here for distribution sites and more information.

Little Women of Color

Little Women of Color (LWOC) is an organization designed to create safe spaces for 7-12 year old girls of color in the Twin Cities to discuss topics such as self-esteem and emotional health, and to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education. They will be starting with monthly virtual girls groups, and hope to expand to an in-person after school program as we are able.

Register HERE for parent information session or first event.

Have a nice weekend,
