Special Education Teacher - Short Term

 

Cornerstone is looking for a Special Education Teacher to cover a leave of absence position from mid-January through mid-April 2023.

 

Plans and develops, under the guidance of Administration and within the committee structure, instructional materials, lessons, and other activities to support Cornerstone’s goals and objectives in accordance with the mission statement. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students who qualify as special education fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. The Teacher evaluates the needs and abilities of students and determines methods and techniques to best present and provide instruction to students within assigned subject areas. The Teacher ensures students show continuous improvement in learning basics and essential skills.

SPECIAL EDUCATION Paraprofessional

 

Assist elementary aged students with special needs in a Montessori classroom. Essential functions of the position include assisting with and delivering effective instruction specific to the Individualized Educational Program of students with special needs, specifically fulfilling

paraprofessional requirements of the IEP. The qualified candidate will adhere to state and federal guidelines on delivery of instruction and compliance, communicating effectively with students and colleagues.

TRAINED PRIMARY ASSISTANT

 

Supports the guide in classroom activities and supports Cornerstone Montessori School and Cornerstone Montessori Elementary School's goals and objectives in accordance with the mission statements for each school. The Trained Assistant works with the Lead Guide to help provide the highest quality Montessori learning environment that meets standards set by the Association Montessori Internationale, the State of Minnesota licensing standards for public elementary schools, and the Department of Human Services requirements for child care programs.
